P.D. McLaren Limited: Our History

P.D. McLaren Limited is a 100% Canadian company which has been run by the same family since its beginnings as P.D. McLaren & Son in 1924. It is guided by the sure hand of P.D. McLaren, the grandson of the original owner. From head office in Burnaby, British Columbia, the company manufactures, distributes and services a variety of products and systems for the liquid handling and car wash sectors.

The company’s offerings include high speed fuel pumps and dispensers, electronic hardware and software, metering and storage of liquid products, vehicle wash systems, self-serve pet washes, and coin and cashless payment equipment. Branch offices in Calgary, Alberta and Ajax, Ontario, as well as a sales presence in Montreal, Quebec and on Vancouver Island provide sales and service support.

Canada-wide, P.D. McLaren Limited employs nearly 50 people; many of them have been with the company for more than 20 years. “That’s really been the backbone of our success,” McLaren says. “If you want people to work for you, you’ve got to treat them right. We get good people, and we keep them, and we treat our customers right.”
